How the Markdown to HTML Converter works
The Markdown to HTML Converter turns Markdown into HTML you can paste into a website, CMS, email or app. Type or paste your Markdown, or open a .md file, and the HTML appears instantly next to it, with a live preview of how it will look.
It supports GitHub Flavored Markdown, so tables, task lists, strikethrough and bare links work as they do on GitHub. Headings can get IDs so you can link straight to a section, and a table of contents can be added at the top. You can also make external links open in a new tab, keep single line breaks, or wrap everything in a complete HTML page.
The conversion uses marked, a well-known open-source Markdown parser, running in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.

Which Markdown features are supported?
Standard Markdown (headings, emphasis, lists, links, images, quotes, code blocks and horizontal rules) plus GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables with alignment, task lists, strikethrough and automatic links. Raw HTML inside Markdown is passed through as-is.
Is it safe to paste Markdown that contains HTML or scripts?
The preview runs in a sandboxed frame with scripts turned off, so nothing in your Markdown can run on this page. The HTML output keeps whatever HTML you wrote, so check it before publishing content from someone else.
Why do my single line breaks disappear?
In Markdown, a single line break inside a paragraph is treated as a space. Leave a blank line to start a new paragraph, end a line with two spaces, or tick "Single line breaks become <br>".
Is my text uploaded?
No. The converter (marked) is downloaded once and then runs in your browser. Your Markdown is converted on your own device and never sent anywhere.
