Home screen icon (apple-touch-icon). Phones add their own rounded corners, so this one is always a full square with a solid background.
The Favicon Generator makes the little icon that appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, search results and on phone home screens. Upload your logo, or type a letter or two or pick an emoji, then choose a background, a shape and how much space to leave around it.
You see your icon as it will really look: in a light and a dark browser tab at 16 pixels, in every size a modern site needs, and on a phone home screen. Each size is drawn separately from your original rather than shrunk from one big image, so small icons stay crisp.
Download everything in one ZIP: favicon.ico (with 16, 32 and 48 pixel versions inside), PNG favicons, the 180 pixel Apple touch icon, 192 and 512 pixel Android icons, a site.webmanifest file and, for text and SVG icons, a scalable favicon.svg. Copy the HTML snippet into your page's <head>, upload the files to your site's root folder, and you're done.
A favicon.ico in the site root (for older browsers and Google), a 32 px PNG or an SVG for modern browsers, a 180 px apple-touch-icon.png for iPhones and iPads, and 192 and 512 px icons listed in a web app manifest for Android. This tool makes all of them and the HTML that links them.
A square logo or symbol, 512 × 512 pixels or larger, works best. SVG is ideal because it stays sharp at every size. Simple shapes and bold letters read better at 16 pixels than detailed logos or long words.
Upload them to the root folder of your website (the same folder as your home page), then paste the HTML into the <head> of every page. If your files go in a subfolder, untick "Files go in the site root" and edit the paths in the snippet.
Browsers cache favicons for a long time. Open the favicon address directly (for example yoursite.com/favicon.ico) and refresh it, or try a private window. Google search results can take days or weeks to update.
iPhones and iPads add their own rounded corners and show transparent areas as black. So the Apple icon is always a full square with a solid background; if you chose no background, white is used.
No. Every icon is drawn by your browser on your device. Your files are never sent to our server.

Paste SVG code or open an .svg file and convert it to a sharp PNG, JPG, WEBP or ICO image at any size, with a transparent or coloured background.
