About the tool

How the QR Code Generator works

The QR Code Generator turns a link, a Wi-Fi password, a contact card or a message into a QR code that any phone camera can scan. Pick what the code should open, fill in the fields, and the code updates as you type.

Style it to match your brand with your own colours, rounded or dotted modules, softer corner markers and your logo in the centre. The tool warns you when colours are too close together or the quiet zone is too small, because those are the most common reasons a printed code fails to scan.

These are static QR codes: the information is stored inside the code itself, so there's no redirect service in between, nothing to expire and nothing that tracks who scans it. Download a PNG for documents and social posts or an SVG for print, then test it with your phone before you print a batch.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes, which means the link or text is stored in the code itself. There is no account or redirect service behind it, so the code keeps working for as long as the link it points to works.

Can I change the link after I print the code?

No. A static code can't be edited after it's made. If you need to change the destination later, point the code at a page you control (for example a short link on your own site) and change where that page goes.

How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, type the network name and password exactly as they are on your router, and pick the security type (most home networks use WPA). Guests scan the code and their phone offers to join the network without typing the password.

Why won't my coloured QR code scan?

Phones need strong contrast: a dark code on a light background works best. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on some scanners, and very similar colours fail on most. Keep the quiet zone (the empty border) at 2 or more, and use higher error correction if you add a logo.

PNG or SVG: which should I download?

Use PNG for documents, slides and social media. Use SVG for print and design software, because it is vector-based and stays perfectly sharp at any size, from a business card to a poster.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The QR code is drawn by your browser on your own device. Your links, Wi-Fi passwords and contact details are never sent to our server.
